Blues' Blog

Hey all, I'm Matt, new Burnoutaholic.  Normally on xbl around 8 pm Central weekdays and varies on weekends, under GT: BLUETHISTLE.  Look me up if you want to burn up the town.

Edit:  I should have added this, but I play Paradise as I don't have the others yet.

Welcome Matt/Bluethistle! (*snickers* ...welcome mat...t)

I'm a newbie too... Well...noob... I refuse to become an elite racer with the most awesomest stunts and scores... Anyway, hope you have as much fun as I'm having with it.

Im not sure how long youve been playing Revenge or Paradise? But Im sure your in Paradise more than Revenge right? But anyways, people are welcome here and thats a good thing.... Anyways, there's no Burnout noobs here, just cool folks...

Definitely more new people in this site lately... thats always a good thing... One advice tho, feel free to jump in on conversations.. no matter how retarded it sounds... Just look at Khanon... he just registered 2 days ago, and now he's got the sofa and the coach on the Burnoutaholics living room....

Thanks for the welcome!  I actually got off of xbl about that time last night but I'm sure I'll catch up to you soon.  I just finished career and started playing freeburn a couple of days ago.  I haven't been hopping matches as I seem to have ended up hosting challenges ever since lol.  It's been a ton of fun as most people view the challenges as fun, but stay organized.  I've seen very few who are disruptive and have to be removed from the game.  It is annoying though to have folks jump in without a headset and you can't help them do something, takes forever for them to figure out the challenge sometimes lol.  Anyway if you see me on send me an fr and I will do the same.  Cya on the asphalt.

Actually you probably wont be seeing me around if your playing Paradise.. Im strictly on Revenge all the time... I had Paradise when it came out but traded it in because I just did not like it...

However, Zomb, Xan, Suffer always play it.... They'll definitely be up for some racing if you see them on Paradise...

Bummer I won't see you.  I am finding though as I play this game that the Burnout community on xbl is the most laid back and fun of the multiplayer genre that I have experienced.  There is little or no flaming going on and everyone starts up decent conversations, it's been a good time so far.

p.s.  Got my burnout skills cheeeevo last night woo-hoo  lol

You should try going to the Revenge XBL.... The first thing people do is kick out non-rankers....

I haven't played any ranked matches at all, I don't feel compelled to.  Freeburn is such a relaxed community I don't see the point of ruinning the fun, freeburn races are enough for me, they're competitive, but they're still a good time.  I've accomplished my Criterion Elite, that's enough rank for me lol.

It's funny how fast you actually learn things.

I've been playing Paradise freeburn games for about a week now.  I'm working on the obvious things such as challenges and events.   As of today I have completed the two player challenges, 30 four player challenges 12 three player challenges and a small number of the others, totalling 110 challenges complete.  I had set up games last couple of nights where it just took forever to even get one person in the lobby.  I had a friend jump into one last night who wanted to get his Burnout Skills finished, we had been waiting for some time for people to join so I said I would just cruise around, why don't you get six of eight built up while we wait and maybe your records will stand long enough to get them, after this is pretty much the scenario behind my cheevo.  He wasn't really sure what to do, where to go so I kept advising him on locations that worked for me and what kind of scores he should aim for.

Watching him on the map, I knew every turn, street name and stunts available for where he was at.  Then it occured to me...I know Paradise better than I know my own home town, what the...?   I don't know if I'm trying to make a point here, (anyway my blog so I'll ramble, lol), other than it was a strange feeling to realize what had learned in the game without even realizing it.

Well, that's about it for now, did some races last night and finally racked up 20 online events so the cheevo ball is still rolling....

Cya on the asphalt.

Alright good morning race fans.  While freeburning in our fair city last night myself and another player decided to do a road rage while waiting  until the lobby was full.  We noticed that none of the takedowns were being recorded, we ended the match early so we have no idea what the outcome would have been.  How does the game determine a winner if the takedowns aren't recorded?  Anyway we did a variety of challenges last night but the two that stood out were the eight player simultaneous oncoming and the eight player 5 near miss chain on I-88.  These were a bit of a grind to say the least.  Not much outstanding about the evening other than that.  Sitting at about 150 freeburn challenges with about 8 four player ones left until Block Party is ticked off, maybe we'll get that done this weekend, then on to races.

Cya on the asphalt.
