OK, I'm assuming you mean for Burnout Paradise, not that there is a lot of difference, but as you can pick any car, pick a nice heavy aggression boost car like the Steel Wheels, Inferno Van or the 4X4 truck.

Basically, just hit the cars you want to takedown. You can hit them into traffic cars, into walls, make them crash and you will get a takedown.

The takedowns in Paradise feel a lot easier then in previous Burnout games. Let us know how you got on!

I prefer the Citizen police car for takedowns, it handles a little better than the bigger cars, and the pushbar on the front makes it tougher, so it does not get totalled as easy I think.I like to get on I-88 also if possible. There is no oncoming, or cross traffic to worry about, no parked cars, and the retaining walls make it less likely that you will crash like you can on side streets.Use your rearview to see who is trying to go around you, or gaining on you so you cut them off, and get your takedown.Remember the more you boost the faster you go, and the A.I. cars will go faster as well making it harder not to crash, so in this case "speed kills".If you spin out or stop don't stay static for long, or you will be smashed, boost up to speed instantly to live.If you get on I-88 watch the toll booths, you need to boost through them, the A.I. cars like to hit you at the last second to send you crashing into them.Memorize where all the repair shops are along your route, or hit the back button to find the closest one,and use them wisely, because you can only use them once, the Citizen will take about 5 crashes before becoming critical, so know your cars limits, and get it repaired.Lastly the A.I. cars will suddenly all turn trying to get you to follow them, don't, because they want you to die, make them follow you, don't worry they will show up soon enough with intentions to smash you.

Now go get those takedowns!

The above two commenters are absolutley right, live and breathe their advice until it becomes an aquired instinct, I-88 and the mountains are a good place to go once you know them like the back of your hand. Also, like in older versions of Burnout, you will have to rely on the spots on the car that you can ram into a wall without crashing, and certain areas on the walls, barries, slash mountains that will help you stay alive from the angle you hit them.

At times, Speed is key. Also, you want to learn where all of the Auto shops are. You can get off I-88 and hit most of the main auto shops to give your car back full healt, then hurry back on to 1-88. When you get bored of not dying, retrace your routes, but the autoshops will be closed to you now so try shortcuts and jumps if you can control your car well enough.

I have not practice road rage in a while, but I got 113 takedown in Paradise last year. It's on youtube. It's not very clear though, I'm working on a setup that will once again allow me to record straight from the game from the TV. I'm still looking for the best prices and combos.

Once you practice with the in Game Road rages and watch the time, you will do fine in the future.

Take care.
