I've seen a couple threads on this in the Criterion forums and pretty much everyone says that it is the Jump off the cliff over the dam with the hot rod.
Without giving away trade secrets, where do you feel the best location is for hitting massive spins? I personally like the airfield, where I can hit 700+ almost every run.
I am also "exploring" other areas, but have not had the same type of success. I've tried three or four other areas, but they just don't compare.

But object hitting flat spins are not really legit, in the eyes of some, but because everyone who does a flat spin and says they use the "dam jump" etc, it's ok as long as it was done that way and said as such, but I would like a leader board for non object hitting flat spins, for when the Island comes out. Like a clean flat spin and one for non clean.

The dam jump with the Hot Rod works awesomely, but you will wreck it 20 times trying to grab the edge of the wall to get a good one.The Hot Rod works so well because of its weight distribution, once you get it spinning it goes forever!I have had luck with the Hawker, and Carbon X12 too.
You can consistently get 1100 to 1700 degrees with the Hot Rod, the faster the better!

I like to do this at night, there is far less traffic as you approach the ramp, which means you can start alot further back up South Mountain road, and get alot of speed which you need if you are going to pull of a good flat spin.If night is to difficult try sunset, there are still less cars than midday.I agree that the hotrod is the best car but easy to wreck, so get that car sideways before hitting the wall.Good luck!
The instructions below desribe how to clip the wall at Rockridge Dam to get the 1,500 + spins.
The Run-up
There are several popular starting points:
Start down in the quarry and boost up to the quarry entrance, drift through the entrance, with the divider on your left, and then boost to the ramp. This approach avoids a lot of traffic and can provide a lot of speed but can be tricky to master.
Start inside the entrance to the quarry for a straight run to the ramp. You won’t have as much speed as you will starting elsewhere but this does offer a straight run to the ramp and you don’t have any blind corners for those magically appearing busses to pop up behind.
Start at the intersection of S. Mountain and Hans. Boost around the corner on S. Mountain then on to the ramp. This offers a nice compromise. It is a decent length run so you can build up speed.
Start on W. Lake Drive and use the dirt shortcut that runs between W. Lake and Hans. Go through the intersection of Geldard, Hans and S. Mountain then around the corner on S. Mountain to the ramp. This offers additional run up so you reach maximum speed sooner than starting at the intersection of S. Mountain and Hans. The problem is you may lose some of that speed dodging the extra traffic you have to pass through.
Once you are headed for the ramp you want to approach the ramp from as straight on as possible - basically you want to just miss the right hand fence on the side of S. Mountain as you approach the ramp.
Hitting the wall:
Getting a high spin requires clipping the wall on the right side of the ramp. The specifics depend on the car your in and your speed but basically what you need to do is go into an e-brake turn to the right and clip the left front corner of the car on the right hand wall.
Upon impact you want your car to be roughly perpendicular to the ramp (at a 90 degree angle to it) so that all of the momentum you have is translated into the spin. If you approach at too shallow an angle, say 45 degrees, you'll most likely wreck, as your forward momentum will carry you into the wall.
Best car to use is the Hot Rod. The P12 works also but the Hot Rod is far superior.

I seen the list of best flat spins and i was wondering how in the hell are there flat spins above 1500? Where, what car, and how? Best Location?

Not to upset anyone...

Keeping in mind that:
- My old leaderboard on the CG forums was never official
- Criterion doesn't track flatspins so there is no way to know who really has the biggest spin
I can tell you that 2515 is the highest documented flatspin I am aware of.
I'll add you to the Excel file of the old leaderboard - if ever find a new home for it you will be number 1. Congrats!

I managed 3701 on Geldard using the pause method, which is why i'm not entering it on the leaderboard, god i'm such a cheat.
And jrhunt if you read the rest of this thread you will see where the best place for doing flatspins is, rockbridge dam, hitting the wall as you spin.
