Burnout!

For some time now I have been pushing the old Burnout: Takedown for "achievments" on the XBOX and pre-orderd Paradise as soon as it was announced. Got the game 23/1-08 about 12:00 swedish time. At 20:00 the very same day i had 7h37min of gametime. Since that was not enough. 24hrs later i had 18hrs of gameplay. That includes school for 3hrs. So in short. I am very happy indeed. Got 51% of the game. A Licens. Every Drivethrus and garages. I miss 4 Super Jump. 3 Smash and 1 Billbord.

Paradise on Earth

Introduction
On the 23rd of January 2008 at 17:55 CET, I walk nervously into a console shop in my hometown of Bergen, Norway. The game’s not to be released in another two days, but it can’t hurt looking, can it? I push past the other customers and make my way to the Xbox 360 section. With anxiety my eyes start scanning the aisle for something recognizable, not really expecting to find it. Suddenly, my heart stops. There it was, standing on a shelf right in front of me, two days early, Burnout Paradise for the Xbox 360. I put a blind eye to the steep Norwegian price (NOK 599 – approx. £56), and walk out of the store at 17:59 CET with my fresh copy of what I had unyielding faith would be the best racing game of all time.

Happy again!

I am a happy man once again. Pre ordered from my local game store this time, turns out it IS out tomorrow, and they have the steel wheels code 😃. Woot. I'll be picking it up tomorrow morning. Can't wait.

Got Paradise, got a fuse and my HD TV is working for now...

I now hope it all works, got my stores in, fizzy drink, and quick meals, snacks etc, so ready for the marathon that will be Burnout Paradise.

Now to put my disk in, so I can move into the flat near the Pizza Place where I have applied for a Job as the PIzza Delivery Boy for Paradise City and it's outskirts.

Multistory Race Night

Hokay, my first Paradise post. Lets see here. Oh yes, Multistory night!

The story goes, last night I was frustrated seeing folks playing Paradise when I haven't got it so I booted up the demo with some friends, sat through the video for about the 60th time (I made a drink) and got stuck in to what soon became epic.

I'm in Paradise

I don’t know where to start… So far I’ve only got positive things to say about the game.

Paradise City is Heaven for any BurnoutAholic. There is so much to do. I just love Marked Man and Road Rage. The AI is so aggressive… You’ve got to love it when they turn around and smash into you head on! It is so nice having the freedom to take the battle where ever you want. I tend to drive the up to White Mountain as that is the area I know best. I find myself getting 20+ takedowns in every Road Rage.

Races are really close and intense. I don’t know how many times I’ve crossed the finish line at the same time as the AI… you don’t really know if you have won or not until the games tells you that you have. I have my A license now and I’ve noticed that the traffic is getting heavier and meaner! This is really cool since it means that races are getting more challenging both because of traffic and faster AI.

I have not been messing about a lot in ShowTime yet but as some of you know I played a lot of ShowTime when we went to visit Criterion Games in October. To me ShowTime is much more entertaining than the old Crash mode from Burnout 2, 3 and Revenge. Everyone I’ve played with online so far really likes ShowTime. You can start ShowTime whenever you want both online and offline. ShowTime online is awesome since all the players in the lobby can go into ShowTime at the same time. It will be interesting to see what kind of scores people can achieve. I guess there will be hard core players that can keep it going for hours.

I’ve unlocked about 25 cars so far. I don’t really have a favorite yet but for freeburning I think I prefer the faster Stunt Class Cars (Speed Rating 4-5). They are good for chasing down people and doing lots of cool stunts. I also unlocked a couple of Speed Boost class cars with speed rating around 8. I love cruising around in these getting my burnout chains.

I did a couple of two player online challenges with Jasman last night. The ones in the airfield were really fun. Doing double barrel rolls through the elevated airplane fuselage is just awesome… takes a bit of practice to get it perfect though…

That’s all for now… I’ll get back with more details later.

We Have Paradise!!

We got a copy of Burnout Paradise today, and Xandu has been playing non-stop since he stopped working at 3pm this afternoon.

Unfortunately, I still had to work til 5pm and I could hear the game from where I was working!

6 hours of Paradise

I picked up my reserved copy of Burnout Paradise yesterday after work and played for 6 hours.

I felt overwhelmed by all there is to do in the city. With an event on almost every intersection, all the smashes, billboards and jumps, all the Road Rules... my head was swirling. I didn't know where to begin. As I'm typing this I still don't know!

New in town

Hey folks, I'm new in town.

My name is Naarkesh, and I'm a Burnoutaholic.

Professionally, I am both software engineer and games animator. I have a strong background in games and am a BSc in Games Devlopment. Needless to say, the videogames industry is my life.

Game. I'm never using them again.

What a F****** wee take, i pre ordered Paradise from their website ages ago, 21st of dec, becuase they were offering the game with the steel wheels car. It then goes and says, today, "Order declined". its not my debit card, as ive used it before with online orders, and i keep trying to call customer services, but no-one bloody answers! Its 3 in the afternoon, its not bloomin busy! Everyones at work for crying out loud! Theyve messed me around before, thought i'd give them another chance, but no, they rip it once again.
