EA Closes Burnout Revenge Servers for PS2 and Xbox

I think Burnout 3 Takedown is dying slowly... The main problem with the game is that you have to complete the game offline to unlock cars to be able to play online. Every time your Xbox has to be sent back for repair or has to be replaced you have to complete the game again. If we were able to copy and backup our save games for the game this would be no problem at all. As you all probably know this is not possible for Burnout 3 Takedown. The save game is locked to some hardware key and this key seems to change when the most common problems with the Xbox is fixed. I love Burnout 3 Takedown but I’m not going to start completing the game for the 10th time... and that means I’m not going to be playing it online. It's a great game but not that great!
To keep the game alive a patch needs to be made that unlocks all the cars for online play. But I don't think that will happen because EA probably want to shutdown the servers ASAP because it cannot be good business keeping these servers running! Right?

just like Pac-man was a good game in its day so was Burnout 3 but guys its time to let go, let B3 rest in Retro land, let it be rememberd as one of the best games on Xbox ever made.

BootlegG, you can't say that, BO3 is still the best online burnout game, Revenge does not beat it for game play, i think your membership to Burnoutaholics should come under review ;). As for the game save issue it is a bytch to deal with, but a true aholic, does not need the best cars straight away they should be able to drive all cars well, plus the host could do a lock, same as host, just make sure the host has a complete game, lol?
Patience is something I taught myself, so I never know when its going to run out?

Unfortunately not all Burnout players are BurnoutAholics like us and don’t have the skill to win with one of the slower cars. As for locking… well there is always someone that wants to use one of the special cars and locking to that class is really not an alternative and then you would have to lock to super or one of the lower classes and the special car people would not be happy…and we can’t have that can we?

Anyway... I think it is possible to enjoy the game without all the cars but it does make it hard to recruit new players when all they get to choose from is one car in each class.

I served my time on BO3 and made many good friends on it most of whom I still keep in touch with today to a degree, I even came close to loosing my Job because of it (to many sickies, late sessions) but I do belive that EA should close the servers and concentrate and how to better their service in revenge, paradise COD etc. etc.
and anyway if you are truly that much of a fan shurley you can play it over connect (that thing that rivals live not shure what its called) thats my view anyway.

Ok Xan you get in a Muscle car of your choice and I will get in the Circuit racer then we will see how good you are...lol
