But I wish they'd fix the news for PC users. The page pops up and says "News is unavailable at the moment. It's been a loooonnnnngggg moment...hasn't worked since I installed on the 5th. lol

The news feed on the PC has worked for me for the last few days - if yours still isn't you may need to re-install. Nothing really exciting and literally identical to the feed on the PS3.
I've already reinstalled it once (aswell as vista) due to performance issues with my laptop, can't be bothered doing it again just for the browser to work. Anyways I don't mind coming here to find out the latest
I reinstalled the game twice; once in the directory I had it in, once with all default settings. I've changed my default browser from Firefox to IE 8 and back again... I've tried everything short of jumping through the monitor and choking it to get it to spit out the news. News is the only thing not working for me. "News is currently unavailable. Try again soon." would normally be thought of as a connection issue, but I can play online games, I connect to the servers just fine, etc. This is the only thing not working for me right now. Interestingly, I'm not the only one saying the PC news isn't working for them, but I'm the only one with a listed bug notice on the Criterion site for the issue...

Are you on XP or Vista? Shouldn't make any difference since all it is doing is calling up a web page but would be curious to see if the problem is specific to the OS.
I'm guessing that the page it's displaying is a locally installed default page used when it can't access the servers. Really odd given that you can get online to play.
...with both Firefox 3 and Internet Explorer 8 installed. It's even keeping track of my game stats, so... There's a big "I" in a chat bubble that's pointing to the news tab, too... *shrugs* I opened a bugfix ticket at Criterion with a SS. Hopefully they can figure it out.

and see if mine still functions. I know I've clicked on that once since I installed it but I can't swear it is working right now.
I'm running Vista Ultimate 32 bit with IE 8. I have the disc version of the Ultimate Box which should make no difference. I can't remember the version number of the EA download manager that installed with the game, althought I think that received a patch last night.
Recognizing that you probably already thought of and checked this, any chance it might be a security setting in either the OS or web browser?
...but didn't see anything overt that would block it. The software has access through the firewall and defender (or I wouldn't be able to access online play). The EA patcher worked; the software's autopatcher worked. The stats show...the Burnout Store can be accessed (though since I have everything they list, there's nothing to try to buy to test it).

I checked last night and the news still comes up OK on my PC so it does appear to be specific to your system. But again, you really aren't missing anything given how quickly anything new travels to BA.
I know it's not specific to me, personally, as I've seen a few other complaints about it... But thank you for checking yours. There's obviously something I've got to tweak to get it to work. I just wish that CG would look at my ticket...it's been open two days and no one's even said they'd look at it. I even gave them a screenshot to see exactly what it looks like from my end.

I'll do that. Regarding the PS3 feed... I don't have a PS3 feed, so...
