Critierion games news reel

What is going on with the news submited on the site over the past couple of weeks?

The kind of news that has been getting submitted may as well be release last year when the game was first released.

Well after a year of release and they are telling us how to enter showtime on the news reel! WTF????

On another note can anyone confirm if the ranked races are still crashing at the start?

Thank you!

I thought it was just me being a div

Over a year later do we really need to know how to enter showtime?

I just scan the CG pages nowadays in the hope that there will be something interesting to see.

To be fair to the Lord Noob stories tho, a lot of new players don't know how to enter showtime. I don't think this mode is explained very well in the game or manual and I have seen several questions regarding this on Burnout forums.

Same goes with the Easy Drive tutorials. To me it goes to show that the system isn't that intuitive or easy if CG feel the need to explain it on the CGN. All of these game features should have been clearly explained within the game.

I just hope these stories do help and/or entertain somebody. I just don't bother reading most of them!

At least on the 360 about 90% of the players appears to have picked it up this year. You find a bunch of complete noobs every day. It's kind of annoying when you have played since last year (think it's 13 months today for me) and try to get those last Timed Challenges done.

i completed the game twice since last year. I accidently overwrote my profile whilst transfering it to a stick :(

Still it was good doing it all again with the knowledge of knowing shortcuts etc

It would definitely be easier to finish the game when you know your way around Paradise City.  I remember getting lost all the time in the beginning. If I remember correctly some people even decided to start over just for the fun of it last summer when we got the new Challenges.

It would also be easier to get it all done if you have someone you can always play online with (which I, for example, don't have anymore since my brother stopped playing the game).

This is getting OT.

I did replay the game again just to see how quickly I could finish it.It was fun shutting down cars to win them, again, ( that was my favorite thing),and finding all of the superjumps, and smashes that you forgot about, even if it was a little tiresome. Now I sit, and wait for DLC while trying to finish those last online challenges with 7 players,2 of which don't know what they are doing.I was a noob once, and did not know what I was doing, so I cut them some slack, but when someone asks how you get into the airfield, it kind of gets on your nerves. Before going online noobs; know the city well, and have some stunt run experience to help you online.Don't be annoying by taking down everyone just because you can. Many times I was sitting there waiting for everyone else to finish a challenge, and they keep crashing into you or screwing off instead of finishing it.Anyway, starting over is a good way to keep the Burnout fire in your soul going, not to mention killing some time before the next DLC.Getting bored;just do it all over!

Yes, there are a lot of noobs out there -- I'm one of them. In fact, I'm the noob you're talking about -- not the "Lord N00b" character criterion created, but the "Earl (of) Borah." Earl Borah is my real name, and it was my five tips (seriously doctored by Criterion, but my tips, even the admittedly lame one about starting Showtime), sent in after I'd been playing about two weeks, that they published.

What time I've spent online (still working to get to 101% complete) I've seen a lot of people more clueless than I am...which is good for my ego I suppose, though probably nearly as frustrating for me as it is for you. The guy who last night did the "everybody do a barrel roll at the beach" for the third time, just so he could get takedowns on people as they arrived at the beach, really ticked me off -- it's people like that (and those who swear constantly, so I can't go online while my kids are awake) that turn me off of online play sometimes.

I bought a HDTV in January, and a PS3 to go with it. I imagine a lot of people were in that boat, trying to beat the old deadline for analog signals going away (although in my case part of it was wanting to watch the Super Bowl in HD). So I'm new to the PS3, and even newer to Paradise. I'm having a blast, recently earned my 100% complete, and don't have any problem finding my way around any more (though I may not always take the best route -- still working on that).

I like that their news site includes things that are tips for newbies. The constant "buy our add-ons" schtick is more annoying than a tip on how to do something that the rest of you do without even thinking. Is some of it painfully obvious? Heck yeah. So what? The more new players they attract, the more players you're likely to be able to find online, of ALL skill levels, right?

The stuff they keep posting doesn't belong on a news page.... it belong on a guide page. In the past it was news and nothing else.

Right now they focus too much on noobs and too little on anyone who has played the game for more then two months.

Would you help me out with the some of the shortcuts?

I've been playing for 4 months and I'm stuck on some of the later Burning Routes, namely - GT Concept and Racing WTR.

Any help is appreciated.
