I think there are periods, periods in y/our lives. Today I am sad yet tomorrow I won’t be? Today, I may play a Guitar, then to touch it not for 6 months... Tomorrow, I may paint a wall with patience and kind or call a lady I’ve never met beautiful to her face; then again I may not and wished it was so!
But TODAY. Today was a different day that involved calculated risks, not the Do or Die type risks that put you away if you’re not good enough to melt that way into obscurity whilst aflame and achieve beyond expectation.... the calculated ones that let you stay in reflection of your deeds if you complete, well yes, if you complete them well and still here and nowhere as I would say lol
Xevo isn’t X then Evo the man playing the Xylaphone pointed out to me, it’s like Zzzzeeevo sound, a Zee then a Vo, a film to a character?! Or a nonsense to you J Be back on that.
Very nice that the new High School in my town is coming along strong and charging my cam as we speak to show you where it is, just over the valley from me in plain and daunting sight but pretty and adding to today’s peace I think. Not sure, smiling anyways! You can see its name sake school just behind and over to right, where my parents met @ 15 but moved away from 2 years later when I was one and my birthday present that day was a pierced left ear, feckin chavs, always good lol And then I found this town again and here I be years later, I do like the green stuff, with hills lol and couldn’t live in Lincolnshire, be like walking on the Moon or being on a cruise ship with no land in sight, I’m thinking...? Maybe
Beautiful valley and now a bit Thunderbirds are Go but not quite Tony Stark d’ya think now the turf is mowed and all the green is poofed? It’s my town and I like, that’s right outside me door, will show you more somewhere despite never being good with a camera.
Well it was peace that began with an X marks this spot and I fear I will be caught deep in the brush of calculated risks pushing weeds from my face as I leggit, how dare, very dare I get away with all this tihS? I fear there is too much beauty to take in, that I can’t take it all in without the fall where you catch or be catcher? Should Be writing songs here not bothering you?!
ZeeVo Day 2:
Why is my brain convinced I once put a straw up a baby frogs bottom and blew it up? I never did that! You know when you’re a kid and you won’t be outdone, someone tells you they jumped off a 100 foot cliff and escaped without a scratch so you gotta go a step further, the cliff YOU jumped was 150 feet and a Sasquatch was chasing you at the time and you fell in a wasps nest, bottom of cliff and didnt panic and gave the wasps The Evil Eye and they dispersed without incident and then you climbed back up the cliff facia without a rope and had a fight with the Sasquatch and beat him up and chased him back to whence he came?
That’s the Frog exploding thing, i’m sure lol I wouldnt do that...!
Learned a valuable lesson today, I say one only it was two or more and have forgotton one and more, they may come back. One was never put your favorite lighter in a pocket full of coins if you’re going for a ride, you’ll take the paint off it (Barsteward)! T’was pretty goddamit lol
Another was not to tell a customer you will clean and repair two smoke damaged helmets, coz they stink big time man. Have you ever dropped melting candle wax unknowingly into an ashtray and a cigarette has touched it and you smoked it? The smell of the Helmets is like the taste of the wax, try it I dare you, it might even help you quit, really!
Bike business, bikes, bikes and webshops
Can’t remember when I started my involvement in online selling and shipping of bike gear but it be exactly how you would imagine it to be.... only, I didn’t?! It was Feb reckon, or thereabouts?
Anyway, trust your gut J Hey smilies didnt work that last time, so you know, that thing at the end of the last sentence is a smiley haha
And webshop; orders from China, Australia, California, Madrid and friggin Egypt and Greece, these are the best! Their details rarely match their addresses and stuff, tho Cali was cool, like £600 orders nearly every time, some card details have been found to be 1 digit out from their last attempt which our banks refused, have been advised to work with consulates of all things, would work but generally you can email these buyers loads and push hard for more info, really dodge ones never reply, clever dodge ones go halfway with fictitious licenses, Residency info and they don’t pan out either so yeah, trusting gut. But who knew so many emails required?!
People will return things, “ These boots don’t match my gloves” (wtf), “ These Textile trousers I bought don’t zip to my 1942 Belstaff Wax Jacket”, (bonK), and feckin email enquires; “I’m size 9 left shoe but size 10 on my right, can you mix your Bike Boot sizes?”, Erm....No, Sex and Travel pal
Actually I was good to a copper from Zimbabwe based in London who used a brand new pair of boots off me for two days, found them uncomfy so I swapped em’ for him and sold em’ to a teenager who got a proper bargain off us and THAT’S what I like about this game and it is a game. That copper travelled on a train for 10 hours (6 changes there and back) to change an £80 pair of booits (boo-its; sic) lol ‘Course i’m gonna swap those muthers. Shame on you for being a cop though, tut tut. And took advantage of the free police rail travel dint ya?! And here’s me painting a really bad picture of this side of the business? It’s not all bad I tell thee; more on this....
Xevo, Xevo... like all hovering like disclosure and hidden things yet anticlimactic as always, nothing will be disclosed and you cant do subliminal but try anyways, gotta run and mind is racing as to why and what’s next on the agenda now and who knew anticlimactic had a C where none should be, kinda nice.... why am I burping Cucumber when none taken, pesky. Winking smiley? Is smiley with an e or without< Alergic to nuts? What?
As Zeevo is in May and sorting out my garden porch thing tomorrow in a heatwave?! Will give us time on thought to my first experience buying something from a Good bike shop, a place and a time instilled in us like a spine protector in a faded leather jacket, old school; Red sky @ Night or you could always trust a knowledgable teenage Girl to recommend the best aftershave. Try that also, tho it probably wont make you quit this time. SmilEy!
Zeevo Day 3:
Angry day today, about to do something naughty on a Xevo, hope I do not get caught @ the border lol And Red Dead Redemption I’m about to whoop up too and kill me some vagrants and there better be a Spitoon in the bar or I’ll be pissed, but Xevo 1st, killings later
Zeevo Day 4 and Xevo is a bike:
1st 4 days of owning a new Xevo have been interesting so far. I didn’t get caught being naughty and that was fun, I am glad! Red Dead Redemption turned out to be Grand Theft in The Wild West which is what I should have expected and I like that too, herding is a pain but get in the moment and it’s kinda real? For a game.
Right now i’m sat in a big arse comfy chair in the garden coz it’s absolutely roasting in Manchester, still in sweltering bike gear but that’s just the same as having gone to a big bike meet in the Sun and to lie in the grass with sweaty leather clad folk with cold beer, risking 3, and smokes. The heat is doable and I’ll take it but this is nice because there are no people here and I won’t see one person and his dog for at least 4 hours at a time, it’s like a nowhere here and it suits, oh doesnt it just. Andy Mckee on this netbook in the background strumming his music, ice beer and cigs. Too nice; it’s 2012 lol So difficult to find the arrow icon with the flat mousy bit tho, screen being so bright, sun blaring down on me! Waffle away lol
First good bike shop that helped me as a kid.... Didn’t give it much thought when could have yesterday , i’ll try today. All the experience of the bike game has been comparable to playing a typical Road Rash game without the Racing; you start out with a big black Ratty bike, heavy and slow is your entitlement thus far, to begin @ the begwin. Have to repair them by going to dodgy breakers who rip you a new one sometimes but your eyes are open? Lol Soon somehow, if it’s in your blood, interest is picqued enough to move forward, upgrade, gain a bit of respect, then new avenues open and now there’s this grapevine thing and you want in one way or another... Better Breakers out there, even top class Dealers that are Pro’s, again who knew really but if it’s a game, insert a coin lol
Was going for some theory test somewhere in the next town over and happened across a bike shop not far from this test centre, on a one way system so had to circle round to get back to it; any excuse to ride a bike further is, well, you just do it.
Parked up this little TZR125 sports bike outside (I was 16/17 and not very legal to ride but close enough)! Asked the biker/hippie geezer behind the counter if he’d mind me leaving it outside his shop for half an hour and he was cool. That was Steve G, the other Steve I would meet real soon. Weeks later I was scooting about and had a total revelation, I’d been bump starting this 125 for months and it never occured to me to look at why, I hadn’t been bothered, that’s completely stupid I know, it’s true either way haha Anyway it turned out the engine had a spline sticking out for a feckin kickstart... I had thought it was just an out and out sports bike, like on the grid when people push the racers from behind to start their bikes? Kin ‘ell.
I set out to see (can make a long story short here, don’t worry) Steve, the longhaired beardy guy who helped me with the parking but met the Other Steve, like Ogri’s build but atypical “Good” Hells Angel, this time. Was well shy but had the right questions and it was a fast encounter, it won’t be forgotton. Yes he had a used kickstart, a fiver; “would you fit it for me”?.... and that was it, the kickstart was on and I was gone for a fiver. Fast and right back, ya got me.
It was a place to get oil or your 1st ever set of brake pads for your bike; it was a breakers and it was dirty and dusty under the Red Velvet sheet that hung half over the counter, too much Goth and funny now but it was real, you could touch it all. I’d overhear other bikers asking Steve(s) for advice and was then in my head,“Does this mean I don’t have to figure all this shit out myself..... there are people who advise as part of their jobs”?! Cool. Sorry, for this, I’m reminiscing and I shouldnt be trying to put the now into when but skip to the end or switch?
Went to a main dealers on Steve(s) recommendations for a job, another good shop, in fact a great place where things ran above board, nothing underhand or dodgy and well established customer bases, Doctors and Pilots, Car Dealers Priciples, staff family members and ants crawing up my hairy legs lol I became one of Steve(s) parts supplier as they went bigger and it was strange ethereal advising them, my oldest wiser friends who treated me like an equal when I was a kid in this unknown growing circle, Loved it and no it’s not a job anymore, they are all places to be and call me sad if wish. Almost like giving up your right to vote, to not care who is in charge, that feeling that it really doesn’t matter who is and I won’t complain... Didn’t want to set the world alight, sure ain’t gonna so I’ll sit here baking in my bike gear with that Beer and smoke , feeling that tomorrow is a touch away and it won’t matter if it’s Sunday or Wednesday only that it will come... hopefully. Off to eat, but know, and maybe this is my point – if I have one - that if I can treat every kid in my shop like I was treated at the start and help mould them, like a friend and have a laugh.....? I know I’m in the right place. SmilEy
And that’s Zeevo, won’t be going to 7 days of it here, reality will be different tho and my bike blog for what it is, is nearly finished, hoorah what’s left.... Yn’Z like Rn’B and its spicy tomatoe Spog with Italian Cheese for me, sip that Red.... Last SmilEy
