Burnout Revenge dying.....

Burnout Revenge?????

If i have all the time, i'd wanna play my favorite game everyday - Burnout Revenge..... I know i am not that good 'n fast, but, i just love to play it, especially, online. I know you know what i mean, the fun feeling of playing with your friends 'n nemeses racing 'n taking 'em down accidentally or intentionally or purely road rage just to get everyone out of your way. NICE!!!!!

Only that sometimes when i get on to play, most of the time, i don't see that many racers playing this game anymore. These days, it's not so often to see the lobby filled with racers, pros, joes 'n noobs just like me: your one 'n only 'ProfessionlNoob'. Anyways, what i'm trying to say is that Burnout Revenge is fading..... or, should i say dying????? Sometimes, i just can't stop to wonder why there wasn't any add-ons to this awesome game. Why did they make add-ons to the Paradise but not to the Revenge? I have heard of the tournaments they held with the Revenge game, meaning, this game isn't just that good but awesomely great!!!!! And, i still see some old school racers back here to play 'n have some fun; plus, there's more 'n more newcomers joining in to play the game 'n eager to learn the secrets of Burnout Revenge. The gamers, i meant, all of them, e.g. NOOBS - the newcomers, OLD-SCHOOLERS - the Burnoutaholics, PROs - rank racers 'n lap timers, JOEs - fun racers,'n don't forget the road rage hotheads 'n crash maniacs, they all play surely to have fun 'n to keep the game alive. But!!!!! after all that, where are the track add-ons that we've all been waiting for?????

Burnout Revenge was originally an Xbox game, it was then re-made in HD for the 360 with a handful of new DLC cars. Sadly Criterion Games didn't continue to support Revenge after release on the 360 and moved on to create Burnout Paradise.

Burnout Paradise always had DLC planned, that too has now come to an end and the team have moved on to NFS:HP.

None of the Tournaments were organised officially by Critierion Games, they were all community run. As the community is smaller now, it is harder to organise events like those we used to have quite regularly.

I am very happy that we are still able to play Revenge online, EA could sunset the servers at any time! So, although we wont see any new tracks, at least we can still play... for now!

You came in late to game buddy....

But as long as Rofer is still around, Revenge will never die...

The last couple of days when I have jumped on there haven't been many rooms open. But, I still manage to find somewhere to have a laugh.... mostly in unranked!

I hosted my own unranked game a few nights ago, and we ended up doing some Crash Party. I am not a natural born crasher, but it was really nice to have a change of pace. Last night there was a Crash Room in Ranked and a Road Rage room in Unranked, so I jumped into the Road Rage. That is another mode I very rarely play on Burnout Revenge.

I was instantly invited to a chat party and it was a bunch of noobs who seemed to know each other in real life... I didn't say much, but I enjoyed listening to a few kids enjoying the game in a fresh way.

I will be very sad if I go online a few times and nobody is playing... I don't think that will happen for a little while yet tho, especially if new racers are encouraged to continue by the old guard.

Why not Adopt a Noob today!!

I bought this game used around 2-3 months ago to play in my holiday. I've been playing this game almost every single day since then and it's still great.

I do notice a difference in the amount of people playing. Alot of people picked up Blur and or Split second and only a few remain on revenge.  Very often I can only find a crash lobby and i have to wait for a while untill a race/road rage lobby appears again.
The weird thing is that some days i can actually scroll down in the list of lobbies and the next day there is only 1.

There are 2-3 groups of friends who still play almost every single day and if u add some of these guys you always have someone to play with.

Revenge will live for a while but i don't think it can survive after  Criterion's NFS is released.

A lot of us thought we would stop playing Revenge when Paradise came out. But as they are such different games, we are still playing Revenge!

NFS:HP will not replace Revenge.

I am looking forward to it, but I am sure I will still come back to Revenge for my Burnout fix!
