Cant play my friends ?????

Hi All

Since last Friday I have not been able to play online against people in my friends list (can still play open games thought) is anyone else experiencing this better still has anyone else overcome this problem.

Help please as the controller is in serious danger of being thown through the TV and my £40 quid will stay firmly in my pocket on the 25th.

I guess you are talking about the demo? I think EA might be working on the servers to prepare for the release of the full game.

Previously I've only had trouble connecting to the EA servers once or twice. I fixed the problem by first going online in another EA game (Burnout Revenge) and then back to the Paradise Demo. This seemed to work every time.

It is important to keep in mind that it is only a demo and not the full game.

It's a bit frustrating though after spending most of December and the first couple of weeks in January playing my mates to find that most of us are unable to connect to each others games now (this has only really become a problem since friday's extension of the demo). The occasional kick was a nusance but not being able to connect at all and then getting that daft message about firewall settings is a real pain. Searching on the web shows the problem to be pretty far reaching and most are pointing to EA's servers or similar. I thought one of the purposes of these online demo's was to iron out problems like this before launch but with only 4 days to go it seems to have gotten worse. We are still able to play in random games and are even able to play against other (non-invited)players if we change the access settings to open but not against each other. You can even see O/Ps cars being taken down by your "friends" but still not see them ????.
I accept it's only a demo but I downloaded it over a month ago and played it without problems most nights since then. I haven't changed anything so it must be something at the game/server end

EA's servers have always been pieces of crap. I'm still holding out for the day that MS says no more, and takes all their XBL servers. But, alas, MS cares more for money than they do their customers.

There is an update that is available for North America for today which is launch day.

Not sure if that will fix the problem that you have experienced but let me know if you have a problem with the full game.
