Ranking up!?

Since Criterion is doing a “Long Weekend in Paradise” of ranked racing I decided to bring back one of my alter egos. Since this is not a US account I actually had to play Burnout Paradise offline to unlock cars to use for online racing. After 14 hours of offline play I had everything unlocked except for the WTR and PCPD F1 Car. I stopped my offline play at this point because I want to try other cars for ranked races and don’t want to be tempted to use the F1 car. BarryW over at Criterion finished the game 100% in 19 hours 45 minutes. It can definitely be done quicker… probably in around 16 hours if you make sure that you do showtime road rules and time road rules when you drive to events.

This afternoon I started to play ranked races and I have been using the Revenge Racer, the Uberschall ClearView, the Concept GT, Burnout Roadster and lots of other cars. I’ve raced lots of players that have been very protective of their ranks. I’ve noticed lots of the top 30 players either kick players that beat them or disconnect to keep their precious rank. I don’t really mind but it must be hard for up and coming noobs to actually get to race any of the “good” racers.

I had some really good races in the Concept GT Carbon where I actually beat 7 PCPD’s in the around the world race. I came 2nd in the same race with the ClearView (crashed once… I know: RUBBISH! ).

Anyway… after doing 35 online events I’m now ranked in the top 200 in the World. Hopefully I’ll hit the top 100 by the end of the night.

After two days of ranked racing I ended up at rank 56th on the Burnout Paradise Leaderboards and nr. 2 on the Criterion Games leaderboard (gained 9292 points). I don't think this is too bad since I mostly raced with the Concept GT and the Clearview ubershall. I used the PCPD F1 for my last day of racing.
