We have been told. Twice. Thrice
Going by the Alex Ward interview, this is going to be what we are getting, though there is more to come this is just the alpha build. Its a crashing, driving game, not a driving, crashing game. Not a racing game, but it is if you know what i mean. Now we know, great, i like it, now to learn how to play it? He said they read the email's, sounds like they are sick of them, lol. It looks great now so when the finish product arrives it going to to look very pretty. And parallel parking, looks fun for a good couple of goes. Cool interview. Now when can i play test it? lol.
Downloading the other interview.
Now Craig Sullivan's interview sold it as a racing game, top times recorded per race 'lights',(and crash hi-scores) and the guy playing the game while the interview was on, looked like he was having fun, no set routes just Burnin' around the city, doing jumps and hand brake turns etc. it looked great, and i want to play it. He explained online link up, by saying you could send an invite to any of your friends at any time, and they will join you seemlessly, which is nice. But can we creat our own routes? He seemed to say that, a long race around the map from city to mountains, jumps galor and takedowns are still there, so what are they trying to sell, Alex said it was not about being the best racer, so taking part seems to be the rule. But this is a game without rules or they are made to be broken, so when it comes out i'll see what i can do, and i hope you Aholics join me.
Its definatly pushing the envelope, for online play, but the worry in community, the other games did not have one until we made it, so we just have to make one for this game. Anyway Alex, Craig and the other members of the Burnout team, thank you for making another game, we knew you wanted too, and it is new and fresh. Lets hope it is always fresh, and it works to your dreams of a Burnout game. I'm done, i would like to see more video, but until the game comes out, i can't defend or trash Paradise, how can i have never played it? I like it so far and that should be enough, they are going to make a great game, one that will be played just on the alpha build alone, the full game is going to take time to play, alot of stunt areas, jumps, short cuts to learn, routes, crashes and lap times. And road rage which is going to be the wait, to see if it compares to the other games in the Cannon that is Burnout. The Pay-back, part of this game, is a bit mario kart, with very Burnout elements, this is the next part of game play for Burnout, move over traffic checking(it still in the game but you need the right cars), lets mess with my friends car, mid race, cause him to crash, cool but he gets the experiance, i just leave him in the dust and not see what i have done to him, but a nice photo of his mug, weeping like a baby. Now thats a clip i want to see under his mug, the crash i caused him. Oh is that in the game, it was not explained well or is it?
(sorry changed my mind)The one thing that Alex did say was this is not a racing sim, if you want to race, go to them, so Burnout its a crashing sim? Alex, Burnout racing is better than any sim game, that why alot of people race on Revenge(and on BO3), and since takedown physics seemed to be weaker on Revenge, people prefered to race, i would rather Road rage, but the locking of cars was a pain(already spoken about) for blue and red, and the takedown physics was off. The point of Burnout for me is to finish a race, road rage(running away, i'm a blue guy), as fast as possible, taking risks, by near misses, drifting, cutting corners, jumping, short cuts and taking down other racers, to earn boost from said hazards, and survive to the end, to win. That was the community of Burnout, who was the most nuts, took said risks, and got to the end alive for RR and got to the end of the race with the most amount of pieces on the car, only leaving the not so important bits on a wall, corner or stuck in the side of another racer. Yes we want crash physics, we want to see our cars wreaked if we make a mistake, and hope to make quite a few, and see its glory. But the point was to avoid that car crash, in race and road rage, to learn to avoid hazards, as they hurt, and your graphics will prove that, do it wrong and boom(boom is a simple word to describe what the Burnout team is doing for Paradise, and those crashes are not simple), your car is no more. The person chasing you, was also doing the same thing, but making sure you did not finish, full stop, end of race for you(a ghost is still good mind, to mess with the reds and defend your fellow living blues.(i think i am writing about Burnout 3 'Takedown' here)
It looks like the ingredients( i need Word, my spelling is rubbish) are all there to play Burnout, which is a racing game, a crashing game, a raging game and a fun game, but to try to remove the competitive element of being the best, because others don't give it the time, energy or dedication, is sad. The game should be played by many, but the games seemed to be down sizing on difficulty, to compensate for new people, see Jesmans blog on the generations of Burnout. When EA took over it was about maxing audience, more income, sell more games, rather than uping the bar, no, we don't want a new racing sim, but i did not want it to be easy to take someone down or for them to catch up straight away because they were new, i want them to learn the skill i have earned, just not in the same race(unless they are that good, ha). Sorry Alex & team, make it and they will come, just remember, your game cannon has fans, they have expectations, and Revenge caused some problems to cause doubt. And this game Burnout Paradise needs to have no doubts(not the band), so bring it, and make Burnout Fans proud. It's looking good so far.
Just seen the third video, and my 'dick' is out, for someone to find, and Alex thank you for explaining what is going on, looking forward to more videos and that Xbox 360 comparison. People it looks like its going to be good, need a new gamer tag, 'cockholder'. lol. If you edit xan i understand, but Alex said it first, just dicking around, with friends. Now to wash my hands.

Yes it is blue... but only when it is full. This is the same as in Burnout Dominator.

Anyhew after that video there was another Alex Ward video i did not see before. All good so far lol.

Hand brake happy
Yeah - or the person just couldn't get their finger off the hand brake haha. From what I've caught from the videos, most of the footage from E3 is off of the PS3, including that 4th video is definetly from the PS3. Alex saying something about they only had one pod to demonstrate from?

7 more new videos of Paradise
IGN.com just served up 7 more videos. All off screen ingame footage from E3. It looks like the video titled "Wrecked" has footage of players going after best section times etc. Again, I think this footage is from the PS3. Not entirely sure though...

Boost chaining in Burnout Paradise
In this 4th video we you can also see that boost chaining is back. In the first part of the video the player "Burns out". It seems to be the same as in Burnout Dominator. Blue boost bar means that you can start doing you chain.
