EA ANNOUNCES THE ADRENALINE INFUSING SOUNDTRACK FOR BURNOUT PARADISE

Rock Paradise City with the Smash Hit Single from Guns N’ Roses

Redwood City, CA – December 18, 2007 – Electronic Arts Inc. (NASDAQ: ERTS) announced today that Guns N’ Roses high-intensity rock anthem Paradise City headlines the playlist in Burnout™ Paradise for the PLAYSTATION®3 computer entertainment system and Xbox 360™ videogame system. The music propels the game into high speed action with forty major artists including Alice in Chains, Jane’s Addiction, Soundgarden, Twisted Sister, Jimmy Eat World and N.E.R.D., as well as rising stars Airbourne, Jupiter One and Junkie XL who have been signed to EA’s own music label, Artwerk.

Set to release January 22, 2008, Burnout Paradise offers a true open world environment built for intense speed, excitement, and exploration with Paradise City. Feel the aggression in the streets off and online*, as friends can connect instantly in one another’s game to heat up the competition.

Steve Schnur, Worldwide Executive of Music and Music Marketing at EA said, “Burnout is one of the world's most popular racing franchises and demands a soundtrack that matches the game's intensity at every level. We believe we've crafted a truly volatile mix of rock's most dangerous tracks -- beginning with the iconic 'Paradise City' -- for an audio fuel as explosive as the game itself."

My mind was literally blown the first time I saw that trailer. Makes me want the game 10x more now. And that's saying A LOT considering how much I've been wanting it.

Also, EA fails to mention that all the songs from Burnout 1 and 2 will also be on the soundtrack.

Burnout 2 Point of Impact had one of the most memorable songs..its revamped in Paridise though for the intro sequences..

Earlier in the year we found all of the files for B1, B2 and the 'lost' B3 soundtrack so we decided as we have the space on the disc to put ALL of into the game.

The actual naming of the game came from a nod to the title of a GnR album. We're excited that we got to put the song into the game. For a long time during the year, it was up in the air as to whether it would happen or not.

It actually came down to Mr. A. Rose giving approval to use the track. And he was away overseas on tour for a long time.

But it all worked out in the end.

I'm quite surprised that no-one has picked up on the addition of 'Rusty Cage' by Soundgarden going in there. That's just a nod to one of MY favourite 3DO games, 'Road Rash.'

I'll never forget the first time that disc booted up at home. I've still got my Panasonic machine and it goes at least once a year. I borrowed money off my girlfriend at the time to buy the machine so desperately did I want it.. And I used to read the early issues of EDGE religiously as it was the only magazine that was covering the early 3DO 'scene'.

Total Eclipse, Off World Interceptor, Shockwave (still a good intro), Dragon's Lair - bought them all at fifty quid a pop.

Oh, the memories.

Any chance of a next gen Road Rash? I think Criterion is probably the best studio for the job seeing as you're part of EA now... and you have made a bike game before. I'm sure i've got a copy of Suzuki Alstare Extreme Racing for the Dreamcast sitting around here somewhere with Criterion's name on it

It could be very similar to Burnout... instead of takedowns and cars you have people on bikes beating the shit out of each other with chains and spraying mace in each others eyes... in full HD

Another Strike game from EA would also not go a miss.
