need help trouble with road rules

i am having trouble with road rules?

i go to the menu and select timed runs, everytime i go for a timed run it sets me off on a showtime run,

what am i doing wrong.

any help would be great, PS3

instead of going through the menu,press up on the d-pad and leave it on the road rule u want to do.hope this helps.

Yup - just keep cycling on the d-pad,  it will sroll through online time/ online showtime/ offline time/ offline showtime.
