I a sad, Kevs got it.

Downloaded The Market Place stuff twice, but no Game Update, sorry Game Changing Content, etc blah blah blah, but getting updated via chat from Kev, awaiting airport, sorry, airfield data, lol.

Anyway deleted the MP download, and will await game update.

The Cagney update for the most part is better than I expected. I enjoy the ranking updates immediately following the race. The Marked Man challange is cool and the races are lot more easier to manouver. The only down side is the Olympus and Rai-Ji are only available with online play. All in all, kudos to the burnout team, can't wait to see what the island brings.

...but not commited. Still find rooms full of idiots and quitters. Going to wait for things to die down, maybe a couple of weeks or so.

Loved the timed challenges and Road Rage, liked Marked Man but not so keen on Stunt Run. Mainly 'cos I lick nuts at it.

I know this is probably covered elsewhere but how do you get the new cars?

The Kid 74's picture

I do not know how far you have to be completed in the game, but the new cars are only available online.

of the car select screen when you are in the junk yard in an online freeburn you will find the Hunter Olympus and the Rai Jin Turbo.

I just watched Crash TV episode 6 today, and they explained in that when the cars were released for everybody. Neither of the new cars have boost, but they are fast and fun to drive if you want to give the A button shaped dent in your thumb a rest for a while!

And not a trace of 'just LOOK eejit' in your answer either!

What are the new liveries like? Loved the look of the hippy van but haven't seen any of the others.

OMG.....did i really just say that............well yes you read it correct im hearing all the goodness is on Paradise at the moment....and Revenge is at the back of my mind at the moment..........so yeah im considering looking at it............just to see what all the hype is about............

You may get ADDICTED!!!!!!

That is exactly what im worried about......lol......i know what addiction to a game feels like........i still have Revenge running through my veins ....... even though i havent raced for 15 days.............but who knows....i just feel like im contradicting myself..........especially after everything ive ever said about the game..........but if i do decide to play it i will be in here moaning about 1 small factor.......NO SPEEDOMETER.............

I'm looking for the spaceman who stole my smile....he cant be far away....hopefully....

Rofer's picture

don't worry psycadelic, if you have ever truly been addicted to revenge, than it is IMPOSSIBLE to become addicted to Paradise. Burnout is a very addicting game. Paradise is not, so that means paradise is not burnout. I remember the more i played paradise the more and more i couldn't wait to get off of that trash. The cagney update probably is worthless because it is the same disaster of a burnout game as before they probably just added more and more trash that i would hate to be in burnout. I hope paradise dies a very painful death.

PsychedelicBabe's picture

Well i tried.......i almost put the disc in....and i felt extremely ......the blood went to my head and my consience took over and said ''no dont even go there''......so i didnt......i did a new tag and played Revenge..........a bit rusty at first with it being 15 days...........but then i started using the stick.....yep you heard me ''i used the stick'' and ''whoooa'' i flew round that track faster than i had ever done...........i went from a - to a 2000 rank in just 6 sets...........so yes i guess the addiction still does run through my veins.....and it always will i suppose........ when i remembered about the speedometer and other things weve discussed Rofer im glad i didnt insert  into my ......lol.....im loving the adrenalin im getting of the game again too....its .......

It's kool that you have kept all your faith in revenge, but you might as well at least try paradise, i had to right when it came out so that i wouldn't have to take anybody's word and be able to judge the game for myself. "You can never know what something is really like until you try it for yourself"!!

kevlar0's picture

Rofer you are a narrow minded fool, And you have the largest chip on your shoulder. I have played all the burnout series and have an addiction to all of them, not just one game.

Fair enough, you don't like Paradise, but you have no right to slag a game off that you are not skilled enough to play, you stay on revenge dude and leave us PROPER burners to it.

And paradise is going to be much bigger and more addictive than any of the previous burnout games and is still going to be popular when they ditch the revenge servers.

my dog ate my disc.

PsychedelicBabe's picture

Haha i didnt need to Paul played it for like 2 hours...........and that was when i reached the decision of not even trying it......it just seemed so pointless to me and paul didnt look like he was enjoying it much.....so im going to stick with my views on the game......i know alot of people love it but its not for me......after being back on Revenge i know where my heart lies........

I'm looking for the spaceman who stole my smile....he cant be far away....hopefully....

What about revenge makes you addicted to it?

Ill tell you something about Revenge that Paradise doesnt have. The Boost jumping, boost drifting, doing harriers, straight drifting, ect. in Revenge actually makes it more enjoyable to me than Paradise. There is actually skill involved to pull off the best/max speed off a jump and carry that speed through a track. No amount of cars or bikes can change that. And now, Paradise released "Boostless Cars". I cant help but laugh at that considering that is an abomination to the Burnout series.

Oh well, I hope Revenge 2 is in the works somewehere, otherwise I'll just have to play SC4 which takes skill to play.

What makes me feel like im addicted....?......well where do i begin??....My name is PsychedelicBabe and i am addicted to Burnout Revenge.....ive been playing this game for 3 years now and there hasnt been 1 day in them years that i havent either played revenge or watched my b/f play......so when people ask me are you addicted my answer usually is well yeah?......but how do you get addicted?......for me its the power ...... the adrenalin ....... and that feeling of nausea that you get when you pass the line with someone 1 second behind you ....... if you had asked me 3 weeks ago you would have got a really boring answer.....but as i havent raced or been able to race for 3 weeks i now know im addicted.......instead of waking up and playing revenge i was cleaning.....wtf.....i felt like a part of me was missing......then came the sweats im not messing i felt like a recovering crack head it was awful.....id lie in bed of a night and all i could see where the tracks......BANG.....i knew i was addicted and i knew i had to feed this addiction.......no matter what......when i had my first race yesterday my heart was thumping and my blood was rushing......i hadnt had that true adrenalin of Revenge in a long long time and did it feel good?...... IT FELT ABSOLUTELY AMAZING.........Addiction is weird alot of people associate it to drugs, alcholol or other stimulants so when you ask them are they addicted to a certain game they say ''NO'' but you take that game away and then there answer will suddenly change to ''YES I AM ADDICTED''.......

I'm looking for the spaceman who stole my smile....he cant be far away....hopefully....

PsychedelicBabe's picture

Slow to start of with.....i thought omg i cant do this ...... then ''WHAM'' that adrenalin took over and i was right back where i belonged.......i certainly wasnt doing 209 let me tell you......i thought seeing as im going to race like a  i might as well try other methods......and it paid off.....i love my stick....goodbye old faithful d-pad......im harriering my way round like theres no tomorrow..........''BOOST IS THE ADDICTION.....ADRENALIN MAKES YOU COME BACK''........

I'm looking for the spaceman who stole my smile....he cant be far away....hopefully....

PsychedelicBabe's picture

Bit harsh isnt it kev?....Rofer was only stating his opinion....and im sorry but i have to agree wth him....i always have on this discussion because its sooo true....the difference is Rofer wasnt lucky enough to have to sit there watching someone else play it for 2 hours .... although im extremely sure if he had of done the dog  would have definately eaten his disc........and skill? does paradise really involve skill? imo i dont think it does not as much as you require for Revenge.? now that game takes SKILL..PURE SKILL.......and as for ditching the Revenge Servers......how could you be so mean....... after that comment i really can feel my .......

Im going to have to disagree that Paradise will be bigger than Revenge. In the 3 years that Revenge has been out, I still see a lot of rooms being created everyday. And yes, there are new people playing it all the time as Ive seen new names a lot lately. Not to mention that the old regular racers actually still come back to it. Maybe not on a day by day basis, but I sure see a lot of regulars playing it after they've played other some other game.

I wonder if Paradise will have that? Maybe seeing as how there is a new set of racers in Paradise. Maybe they are just as dedicated to Paradise as many are to Revenge. Well have to see.....

You Like Revenge great, like Paradsie, great. You like the Burnout Games great, the Welcome mat is on the floor.

I Like Pardise, now we have the complete game as it were, and the timed challenges are fun, got some number one times with mates.

Ranked racing still sucks unless you have a good connection, as well as the host and everyone else.

Criterion saying it's this internet that is the problem, is a bit lame, they worked for the others, but Paradise is different, they say, well why make a game that can't work until Internet 2?

The other online modes are great too, but you need a good host to run them, keeping everyone near by is the best way, run a challenge, then run MM/SR and RR. And it works. And fun!

I have got into racing for challenges, and crashing less now, which is good.

For noobs to Paradise use the Rai-jin, learn to drive, then use boost cars, on-line mind, lol. If your that bad, use the Hunter Olympus, serious noob mobile.

The controls are different to all the other games, IMO, so you have to start from scratch, learning new stuff.

Patience is something I taught myself, so I never know when it's going to run out?

I do have a review in mind for Cagney, and will write it some time? It has improved the game, and if this was in the box from day one, I think more of the old skoolers would have played it? And maybe stuck around?

But it has become a broken record, with the same moans and groans, play it or don't, but move on, if you don't like or care. Meaning if you see a topic about Paradise, don't look, and if you look, don't write anything, what has been written before, again, and again, is the same, just like going around an old track again and again, boring and just a waste of time.

Not that Cagney is perfect, but I have more fun on Paradise now, unless we have a noob in the room, then it can be a bit frustrating, but they will get there, eventually after the 5th or 6th try, lol.

And people play Revenge because a bug/glitch makes it more fun, yes skill, to get the technique down, but if you can play Paradise without crashing every 10 minutes that takes skill, and there are people out there that do that all the time and way past 10 minutes.

With all Burnout games it's about skill and a lot of luck, and luck is all about how you can react to a situation, and with skill over time you get great driving/playing, and luck happens when needed.

Play it, don't play it, but if you don't like it avoid the topic, as it will only have a bit of squirell shyte in every bite.

Patience is something I taught myself, so I never know when it's going to run out?

I doubt the tron and xan will allow my level of profanity on this child friendly site. And FYI, i still love revenge AND I also love Paradise, so much so, I want to have ikkle paradise babies and call them Incognito And Rofer, awwww bless your little cotton socks.

my dog ate my disc.

PsychedelicBabe's picture

.....Why paradise babies?.....Burnout babies would be more appropriate i think.....especially seeing as you love all of the series...............im wondering though do people only love Paradise because there are many new features for it?.......or is it because theyre not very competetive people?......''NO'' I hear you say......well would i be right in presuming that if they brought a few new features out for Revenge then maybe peoples attitudes may change?........I dont know....i suppose each to there own...i love Revenge and hate Paradise but hey thats only my opinion and im entitled to that arent i?.......
