I have just been reading Boot's blog ( or should I say rant?!?!?) and noticed he had put about using a sat nav and it taking him in the wrong direction. Now, call me old fashioned but I have never felt the need to buy a toy which costs me hundreds of pounds, and if left in my car, stolen, only for it to fail its main purpose - getting me from a to b quickly with no errors. What's wrong with the traditional way of using a map or more modernly using a route planner on the internet?
I love driving and feel (without being bigheaded) that I have a good sense of direction and no fear of driving to unknown places. If you go wrong it is easy to correct, I feel. So why a sat nav? I don't know anyone who has a sat nav that hasn't taken them in the wrong direction.
Also, I would like to add that I have been somewhat fearful to adding a blog or comment should it not have been in accordance to the rules laid out by yourself, Zombietron. I totally misunderstood your reasons - apologies.
In addition to this I would like to say that yes I have said that Lee needs to get a ' proper job' as he has to work Saturdays. I just think we work so much these days (and might I add for pittance) that we need time to play and enjoy ourselves - else what's the point in working?!?!?! Who agrees that there should be a law against working on Saturdays and Sundays?!?!?!?
Never assume because it makes an ass out of you and me!

Re: Sat nav or no sat nav??
I love my TomTom (satnav). It was a birthday present. It always takes me the quickest route to where I want to go (as long as it is on the map ). It has never taken me in the wrong direction. Also having Yoda telling me where to go is quite funny... "to the left you must go", "at your destination you have arrived" . As for it being stolen... that would be a terrible loss! but since it is so small I normally never leave it in the car.
Apparently there will be some kind of navigation system in Burnout Paradise too... hmm hopefully it will be better than boot's satnav

I think I'll pass
I was thinking of getting one for my dad once for a birthday present. I was testing the waters to see if it would be something he would like and he went off. "Ya know? I've never once in my life gotten in my vehicle and gotten myself so completely lost I couldn't find my way back home! I'm here right now aren't I? What would I need one of those things for?" Soooo that kinda settled it for me. The Hudson map books are pretty convenient when you learn how to use 'em. I can see the convenience of it all but I can think of a few other things I'd rather purchase. Happy Takedowns.

dude, dirty disk
Your dirty disk errors have been said to be the dvd drive is going and also it's linked to a network failing with some one on line, so as long as the disk is non-scratched, you do not have to buy a new disk. just a new 360 and new friends lol, who have better internet connections.

Re: dude, dirty disk
the problem I had with my first 360 was the DVD drive i.e. games would not load, 360 would not recognise the disk, games would crash, DVD drive would scrach my disk's, so I solved the problem and simply brought a new 360 on works Credit Card, they still dont know, and I was hoping that my second 360 would be differant, so far its only given me the error a couple of times which is ok as my disk is a little scratched.. I am seriously considering getting a 360 Elite in the hope that it is a better machine any comments would be gratefully recieved be they good or bad, just for the record microsoft have always sucked with their consoles as I went through 4 original Xbox's.. we could always blame the internet connection of the cheepo I play with who is with Tiscali and a 1meg connection..... lol

Working Sat's
If people didn't work on the weekends when would I shop? I used to work Saturday mornings and get Wednesday afternoon off instead which I really liked cos the Cinema is cheaper on a Wednesday afternoon and the shops were pretty empty!
Weekend workers are essential, but it does help if you get the same days off as your other half.
Sat Navs are great! especially for trips to new places, it means you don't have to research what route you are going to take before hand so can save a lot of time. The last time we went away to see some friends their address was not on our Sat Nav as it is a new development, so that made it a little useless - you have to keep it updated.
Glad you are still blogging!
