REVENGE UPDATE NEEDED....

Im reading about this Cagney update and its depressing me...alas i dont play/like Paradise im a Revenge girl myself and why am i so p*ssed off?....why cant us racers on Revenge get some kind of new update with new cars or better still new tracks?....it would certainly bring the jazz back into such a great game.......im not going to moan about it though ive cried my tears and ive just succumbed to the fact that this is never going to happen.........

Revenge got it's updated version on the 360.  There were quite a few changes made from the Original Xbox version.

I have taken this list of changes from Jasman's featured article Burnout: Generations;

Gameplay changes compared to Burnout Revenge

  • The Launch meter has been removed from Crash Junctions
  • All cars are now unlocked for online play even if they haven’t been unlocked in offline mode
  • Burnout Clips introduced – BurnoutAholics can now save 30 second clips of any offline event played and can share these clips through Xbox Live
  • Online Revenge Rivals introduced – The system now keeps track of the number of times a player has been taken out by or has taken out any given player. This number is reset every time the score is settled. Settling the score means that you take down someone that has takedowns on you. The number of times you have settled the score with a player sometimes is displayed before a race is started. When you have settled the score more than 100 times with the same player he or she will become your nemesis
  • Downloadable content has been added to the game (in the form of 7 downloadable cars)

And I think the 360 version is a lot better then the original, although there were no new tracks added, but then new tracks (or the island) isn't coming to Paradise for another few months yet.  I would love to see new tracks in Revenge, but only if they were as perfect as the tracks we already have.

It still infuriates me......even though it was updated for the 360....they havent done anything with it since...you only have to visit the marketplace and daily you see new updates or new features for a mixture of old games but you never see any for Burnout...i often look in hope that just one day that them fat cats over at EA would pleasure us with just 1 new track......surely it wouldnt be too hard for them to do that.....but no its apparent that they cant.....or they cant be arsed....lol....id love to see new features on Revenge and so would everyone else.. and as for the tracks being perfect.....they could put a doughnut track in there and wed love it....lololol....

I would really recommend trying out Burnout Dominator too! I haven't really given it much time yet, as handhelds are small and not my favourite platform, and there is no online play.

But, it definitely feels more like Revenge 2 then Paradise does.

I always thought it was a real shame that "they" didn't add a live feature and port Dominator to the Xbox or 360.

What Revenge needs are just new tracks... thats all.. Maybe two, three, four, five, six , seven new tracks...

Don't wake me cause I'm dreaming, of Angels on the moon. Iam Nero Angelo!

We shouldnt be greedy now nito come on be fair.....JUST 3 WOULD BE PERFECT.........

We cant all be PERFECT.....but its fun trying......

Im sure youd want seven new tracks rather than just three...

I'd prefer less sensitive steering more than anything.

sorry for this question forgive my ignorance, but i have a ps3 and on burnout paradise not that many people race anymore there are times where there are 1 or 2 rooms, so what is the scene like on revenge and other previous burnouts ?

if they're any good i will try to import a ps3 with backwards compatibility to play any old ps2 burnouts as i love a good race

Sadly Burnout Revenge is not available online on the PS 2 anymore. Burnout Revenge online on the XBOX 360 is still going strong and last time I was online there was lots of people online.

thanks for the info, wonder why it's stopped on ps2 but still ok for xbox

A special version of Burnout Revenge was released for the XBox 360 in March 2006. You can read about some of the changes here. The 360 version of Revenge also supports HD. As I said there are still a lot of people playing this game online and there are still new players coming online. It seems like the game is still selling quite well.

Burnout Revenge (XBOX 1 and PS2) was taken offline by EA in September 2007 because there was not enough players online. I think Revenge for Original Xbox had something like 10 players online a day at this point. When we talked to EA their official explanation was either that number of players online was too low for these games or that they were freeing up resources on the servers to get ready for Burnout Paradise.

oh ok didn't relise it was on the 360, thought you meant it was still online play xbox 1 but not ps2 thanks for clearing that up

but with the xbox 360 getting cheaper and cheaper i might get one, so sorry for going off topic but is it possible to buy a 20gb hdd then open it up and put a bigger one inside and can you play games online with a free xbox live silver accout or would i need to buy a gold live account as thats the only off [utting factor

Xandu's picture

So far the 20GB HDD has been large enough for me so I have not looked into what kind of modifications can be done. Also I think most new xbox 360 comes with either no hard drive, 60GB or 120GB. The 60 GB XBox 360 sells for around £150 so I dont think it is worth the risk or hassle trying to mess with the harddrive.

It is also worth mentioning that the 360 supports streaming so you can stream media (video, music, pictures) from your PC (does not have to be media center) to your 360. It supports most formats incliuding xvid. This really reduces the need for a big HDD. It is also possible to connect most external USB hdds (read only).

When you get a new XBox live membership you automatically get one month of gold for free. After one month this is changed into a silver membership that you at any time can upgrade to gold (either using credit card or redeeming a code). You need gold to play online. A 12 month subscription (price from play.com) costs around £35.

i might consider it in a month or 2 but ps3 supports hdd swapping and the ps3 is a media server so can do all that to and doesn't have to be media center either can be any software you share media with

i have a 40 gb ps3 upgrading to 320gb in a couple days as i filled it quite fast, how big are the games on the xbox store ? wouldn't they fill the hdd quickly or are they just small arcade games in terms of size, i.e i bought paradise off the ps store and it takes 3.3gb roughly could i do that on the 360

The burnout scene on the pc is craaazyy... I think the number was waaaay exagerated I dunno maybe it's a trick but the program said either 22,000 or 2200 people online playing last night. I was like whoa. Of course this is for paradise
