"Free online beta"

Hello everyone.

Ive been playing burnout paradise ultimate box since 12 feb. Its terribly addictive. Ive been looking the criterion webpage, the podcasts etc.. Im aware bonus package such as legendary cars wont be free. But what about the online playing? The homepage that popups in game when you boot it up says "Welcome to the free open beta". Does that mean any day they will force people to play if they wish to carry on playing online? If thats so, any idea of the fee?
