Well sitting in an independent game shoppee, wondering why i'm buy gifts for people that don't love me anymore, while others who do, get a card, lol. And whats with shops not opening till 12 noon during the xmas period!!
Well the Euro gamer blog (not going to get written persay, sorry, I knew i should have worn the dress coat/blazer,lol), I would like to thank Eurogamer for allowing me to be at their event, which was 'thier press event', as seen on the video in another super short blog I wrote earlier, but yes i got to Play Split/Second E3 build, looks like a fun game, but the build's car handling was to be honest, poo, yes for a noob you would not know any better, and for a veteran you can deal with it, but as a Single player experience I would buy this game for just a new racer to play, but does it have the longivity of Burnout 3 or Revenge? not sure, maybe I will get an invite to BlackRock to try out new build and this 'new game mode' that Nick and the gang on twitter are talking about. Nick Baynes was a cool dude, loves his game and the hard work his team are doing and 'J'ay, another fellow BlackRock worker I met up there, the enthusiasm they have for Split/Second was enormous, and they took feed back, positive and negative really well. eg, the drifting is a bit shyte?lol!
Oh and being a pratt talking to the Producer of Left for dead 2, and asking did we meet in Singapore at GCA last year, where in truth the day before I saw the guy on Inside Xbox, lol.
Going up to SuperKaylo, and introducing myself as Suffur from Twitter instead of, SUFFUR FROM BURNOUTAHOLICS.com! What a Journo Noob, I be! Not that you will see me, but when he was interviewing the two gamers, for inside Xbox, near the Left 4 Dead 2 area, I was standing behind them, gurning I think?
I already did some stuff in the forum(though I think hn6 is the man with the battlefield plans) about Battlefield 2a, which I think will be great and probably greater than MW2, due to MW2 being a glitchy hunt fest and that god damn Rust game play issuse, with infinite ammo too, I hate it, and it was such a pain, some of us jumped on to Battlefield 1943, and after two games of trying to run on our knees and wrench some poor buggers to death, it twus fun to play a game that works, lol, shame us players had to deal with another ffs control set up, and when we got it together, top squad was a familiar sight to see again. And parking my plane on a flag, for an attempted win, again lol.
But I did play BF2 or is it 3?Lets call it BF2a. Over a 12 player lan at Eurogamer, and it was smooth, and fun and awaiting it release, with bated breath. But where do the limited editions come from? The Dice site or are there retailers out there i can get it from?
So Eurogamer was a 'press' event, that was many worlds away from the GCA, that i did in Singapore last year and the year before, well for one there was foods and a space big enough to hang out and write with fellow journos, we were treated like VIPs, not the public.
Being let in first in the que is fine, till you realize that the public are getting in at the same time, but at GCA I was let in the day before to see the set up and set up who and where i was going to interview at GCA, and even had my own personal bytch to look after me as and when too.
Not saying there was anything wrong with what Eurogamer did (well yes but hey) it was a great public event, but once treated like a king, you want a bit of that action from your fellow country men, lol. And where are my free things, no games, no trinkets, unless i was not insistant enough, maybe I should have taken Gav, as he normally commanders stuff, on the principle that, I'm here, you want some good stuff written about your 'product', a transaction of freebees is needed or your 'product' is crap, and that article was lost to the interwebs etc.
Hey due to the tightness of wallets, I can understand that, at least Eurogamer did something this year, as gaming public events were rare this year.
So the drift'gasm, I have used this word before many years ago, but saying in a room of BO Revenge the other day, got people asking, so I will try to explain?I think I did it better explaining in the room, but hey i blog once in while?
Now with Revenge, its all about speed, with the bug, gaining more speed, but since i'm not that great at this boost bug, I just try to race, keep a consistant speed and not crash, hit objects etc. Now I like to drift around corners or through the track obstacles (wow spelling issuses are turning up, i need my word back and my dic' program, but i Blackl'ed it now as it did bug me so!), like White mountain etc. The object is to drift, not losing speed but drift in a consistant arc, through traffic and not touching the sides as it were. (wow dirty minds out there).
A good example of this in on White Mountain, drifting up hill through the tunnel, near-missing the traffic, gaining boost, and keeping that going up the hill. It's sort of S bends stuck together and you're dirfting it all sideway flowing left and right, yes it may be a bit slower than normal, but the drift-drive part is so much fun for me, that i feel great pleasure doing it, and before you ask it's all in the mind not some physical experience, again dirty minds, tisk-tisk.
I also get the drift'gasm going on most tracks, it's that 'everything is going right', the 'flow' is with you, you're getting away with just missing stuff, going from one corner to another, it's so smooth, you think you using a razor across your face or whatever else you may trim. Angel Valley, from the Burger Sign till the drain, you can get that boost jump from the burger sign up down, and then near miss cars off that jump, hit that right corner, near miss like a mofo, lefty, then righty through the petrol/gas station with a smooth arc that goes between the traffic hold straight, through the alley way to the drain. Lone Peak is another good drift'gasm track. Even Central route too.
Its all about the smooth continous drift with the dangerous driving, so how many times to explain, it's just about doing it all right and feeling good.
Right got to go and write the suckling tree and she went down on me song, co written with PhilG.
I will write this a few times in the next couple but have a good Xmas and deathless but eventful new year, I had so much to write but being out of the home and doing this in a public place without a ciggy is kinda hard, i'll try again on xmas day if not too busy since i'm cooking again this year, but then again it turns out pretty good.
But this year has been interesting, but it's still has a good week or so to go and much more may happen yet, I await it with twichy fingers. Time to get food till next time, love you all, in a non gay way, or if you into it then it's as gay as you want, since now I hear all Welsh people are now gay and the sheep are moving else where due to lack of attention.

Gutted I missed...
you chaps and chapppess's on Revenge t'other evening, but there may be more over the next few days as we all have time off or are completely stranded, like me, because of the snow. Good mini blog and great examples of the better places where you would get some of your driftgasms, especially Angel Valley, exactly how you described it Suf and the Mountains of course where its possible to suprise yourself with the smoothness of your drifts going through the lefty/righty twisties.
Favourite track of mine is Lone Peak F and there is the jump at the startish of the race off the wooden bridge (most people go through the centre but dont always on Reverse)? And then the quick drift right into the little trailer park - a bit treacherous for some in there - but a beauty when done correctly. Could race a hundred races and get it right every time only to have one 3 lap race and crash in there every lap lol
The other goodie jump into drift is the Motor City LF wooden ramp on the left - 3/4 way into the lap, just after right drift into small tunnel - you can hit 250-260 average on the land as you drift left and keep your speed through the next "tunnel" with the wee jumps either side.
Just 2 places where I personally would 'Gasm' but Im boring myself now..... Time to trudge half a mile to the nearest shop through 10 inches of snow, sometimes it isnt so good being so damn isolated

I'll Be Back...
on Revenge a bit more often I think, as it is still the most fun game to play on Xbox Live!
I'm feeling pretty isolated by the snow too, although I did go for a mini walk with baby girl today, it was literally just around our apartment complex! Nice to feel the crunch of the snow beneath my feet and luckily the all-terrain buggy we have coped very well in the conditions!
We have been drifting a lot in real life due to the snow which is a bit scary! I am glad Xandu is a good driver!
I hope Split/Second improves from the E3 build, as there is still no firm date for release I guess they are still working on it.
Love you back Suf! and I'm looking forward to hearing your song!!
