Review of the downloadable Dominator tracks

I thought that it's about time somebody here at burnoutaholics wrote a review of the downloadable tracks in Burnout Dominator, and since I'm either the only burnoutaholic that plays Dominator or the only one that plays Dominator and can't keep quiet about it, I rose to the occasion. ;-)

Carnival Point: Return of the Tuk-Tuk

Have you ever wondered what one might find in Brazil? Now you know: Cobblestones, palm trees and the infamous Tuk-Tuk! Yes, you heard me right, the Tuk-Tuk is back, and it's back with a vengeance! The first downloadable track for Dominator is Carnival Point, and is set in sunny Brazil (note the flags). The track is slightly reminiscent of the same style as the Asian tracks from earlier Burnout games, though you drive on the right side of the road. Lots of small hilltops to jump over (usually straight into a Tuk-Tuk) and good corners to drift around. The track is not especially wide in general, except for the cobblestoned areas. The traffic is not especially dense, particularly in some areas of the track. Carnival Point is, in my opinion, an overall decent track, and it was a nice touch adding the Tuk-Tuk's to wake up some nostalgia in an old burnoutaholic's heart.

Red Gate: From Russia with Boost

The newest track to download for Dominator is Red Gate, which is set in a large Russian city in the evening. This is Dominator's first and only (to date) track which is not set in daylight, and is a welcome variation to the game's already comprehensive portfolio of tracks. The track is generally wide, but densely populated with traffic, making it an ideal track for chasing down those last near misses for your 5000 near miss dominator trophy award. This track also sees the return of the ominous snow-plow, which has scraped more than a few burners off the asphalt over the years. Extremely good drifting contitions on portions of this track. Overall I would say that this is one of my favorite tracks in Dominator, due in particular to it's good balance between the different aspects of burning (drift, oncoming, near miss, etc).

That's just my two cents...
