Midnight Club: LA to get Free Map Pack!

Rockstar have announced the "South Central Upgrade Map" for Midnight Club: Los Angeles. This will be a FREE download of a whole new area of the city, about 1/3 the size of the original game.

The content of gameplay is available seperately as a paid for download. The "South Central Content Pack" will contain new character competitions, races, cars and music. The new vehicles include a variety of cars and a motorcycle as well as SUV's.

We can expect to see this new DLC in early 2009.

I really like MC:LA, although I haven't got very far into it yet and am still only on my 2nd car!!! I am looking forward to this new DLC, hopefully I will have completed the main game before it comes out!

I don't think this MCLA is anything like Paradise. This game actually classifies as a racing game. To me it seems like the map is built for racing. I actually thought that this game is bigger (map size) than Paradise City. But then again I have only played MCLA for about 10 hours.

Bootleg i thought you would  be able to differentiate the difference between a bad racing game and a good racing game. Midnight club is the second best racing game to ever exist.

I have said this before some where or the other but Burnout Revenge and Halo 2 have ruined gaming for me as I expect games to be as good as these to great titles Paradise was the big hope  which failed misrlably on my part with the sheer size of the map and the silly traffic light's having to drive to your next location MC, Paradise and TDU do this oh and some NFS also nothing beats a menu how can I compare MCLA to Paradise hmm they both have boost which can be re fueld at service stations, you have to drive to your next objective, they both have jumps even driving on some of the roads I though it was Paradise

how can you compare this to parashite......this game is quality.....the cars are great the races are great.....you know how fast your car is going......its just super .......but not as good as revenge......although it is the next best alernative........:p and all his from the guy who switched from REVENGE to GAYLO.......:p

Midnight Club 3 and Burnout 3 were my favourite racing games on the old Xbox, they both had a great sense of speed... but they were both almost totally different racing experiences thanks to Midnight Club 3 being free roaming. They were both amazing games but in their own way.

Now that Burnout has decided to become a free roaming racing/driving game, you can't really say that there isn't any similarities between Paradise and MCLA. The main difference only really being that Midnight Club LA is really just a very nice upgrade of the old games... and to be honest, I wouldn't have it any other way. I think even the older games in the series (like 2 and 3) make Paradise look daft.

I'm all for developers trying something new with their games and not churning out the same drivel every year, but Midnight Club has kept the same gameplay elements from the older games while managing to change things up enough for each game in the series to stand out on itheir own. I mean... Midnight Club 2 (which is still a good game, even though it was one of the first racing games on Live) didn't even have licensed cars, that was one of the improvements in MC3.

Most of the reviews for MCLA have all said the same thing... "MCLA is nothing new, but what it does do... it does it well" and that really is enough for most people aswell as long time fans of the series. Paradise didn't need to be made (IMO), you get a lot of people saying how it's not Burnout  (I've even said it myself) and you can kinda see their point... It is Burnout, it's just gone in a direction it didn't need to go in.

Midnight club La is very good racing game and tbh it is better quality of a game then burnout revenge. I think to not be able to give it respect you would have to be very ignorant/closed minded. the game is fast has good graphics and the gameplay is superb. I think if you are hoping for a better racing game you are hoping for something that won't ever happen. You just need to face the fact that criterion is just making their games for noobs with money and thats how it is. It is very depressing considering burnout was the most fun of a game that was out there but now we all need to focus on the alternatives. Mabey midnight club can't get as fun as burnout but we just have to make fun with what we've got, or stop playing video games altogether until a game as fun as burnout comes out. But one thing i have learned is do not keep your hopes up because to criterion all of are hopes are nothing but a big load of shit. o just take in the happiness when you can get it, and spread hate to the people who brought you misery.
