Curator of the Burnout Museum

Just over a week ago Criterion Games tweeted that they were selling a signed & framed Burnout 3 poster on Ebay, the starting bid was £99 with all proceeds going to charity (not sure which one, I will have to find out).

I was a bit hesitant about bidding at first as it is quite a lot of money, but when I saw that somebody else had placed a bid my impulse to buy it to add to our Burnout collection was overwhelming, so bid I did. I started at £101 as a Burnout significant number, as this was outbid by the first bidder's highest bid, I went up to the next Burnout significant number of £160! YIKES!! I was with Xandu and Suffur at the time.... I think they both think I am slightly mad... I was the highest bidder at £103 now all I had to do was wait til the next morning to see if I would win!

Thankfully nobody else bid (I guess nobody else is as crazy as me!) and I won the auction. I sent an email to ask about shipping, and will get it shipped to Norway to add to our Burnout exhibit at BurnoutAholics HQ now also known as the Burnout Museum!

I'm glad I didn't outbid you now. I am very happy to know it's gone to such a good home. I wasn't the other bidder but I did consider putting in a bid.

The only thing that stopped me was the fact I would rather have had something more integral to the production of the game and maybe something else will come up for auction.

Imagine some early design proofs for the SPECIAL series. Or a copy of the network server code and an xbox devkit with a few late builds and a database of GOD commands.

Maybe one day eh?

... possibly! I will need to get Xandu to sort it out, but once we have received the poster I will try to do an online exhibit of all of our Burnout/Criterion Games stuff.

I wonder who the other bidder was? I'm glad it wasn't you Umo as I would have felt bad if I prevented you from winning!!
