I've always wanted to do some kind of game guide for a favorite game. Playing the game and writing down what I've learned in hopes it'll help other gamers.
After playing the Burnout Paradise demo and seeing Criterion released a full map of the game I was inspired. It reminded me of a map/guide I used to find the Hidden Orbs in Crackdown. I have a computer, a video capture box and a love for the Burnout series so I got to work creating maps pointing out the locations of all Gates (smashes), Billboards and Super Jumps. You can find my work in progress at http://picasaweb.google.com/evild70/
Criterion mentioned they released the demo after the game was finished. I'm not positive the locations of the objectives we see in the demo are going to be in the game. It's a good start and I can easily change it when the full game is released. I'm looking forward to finding everything and putting on these maps for everyone. If these maps help a few people find that missing gate or billboard, I'll be happy.

Thanks for that and Welcome to BurnoutAholics!
I think you will have your work cut out for you to do a guide like this for the full game! It might take you a while to find them all!!
I look forward to seeing it tho, might help me to get those Achievement Points!!

Nice work...
I thought about it, and realised the work that has to be done.
So good luck with it, and it will be used alot for all me stunt runs, and I'll also use it as a guide to hide in road rage, lol.
And maybe a good guide to find route that people will find hard to follow me. Maybe?
But it could also be a good guide to find the biggest jumps to do flat spins and barrel rolls.
I am impressed, Xan linky to this would be good, in the link section, to show good work thats well done. And help the knoobs find thier way around, lol.

Re: Gates, Billboards and Super Jump locations project
This is a very good guide. I think most of the smashes and billboards will be the same in the full game. It is a good starting point for a complete guide to smashes, gates and superjumps. Good luck with the work and keep us posted about your progress.
I've promoted this blog to the front page.

my wishes for your sanity
Dang holy cow man, that looks like alot of work. So far it looks really good and well organized. But holy cow thats gonna be alot of work. I wish you the best of luck with it and hope it works out. I'm sure it will help alot of people out when you get it all wrapped up. On a side note, if there was any help people could offer by way of locating things, what would be the easiest way to pass the finds along to you? Good job by the way, its lookin good.

Re: my wishes for your sanity
The video capturing of the individual objectives has to be done by me so there's nothing anyone can do there.
If you'd like, you can download the map from Criterion Games and just start marking stuff off. I could use it to double check and area after I think I've completed it. I'll still have to do all the work of finding everything myself and marking it off on my maps.
I'm not how much that would speed up or slow down the process. I'd just have to experiment and see.
Thanks for your interest!

I look forward to seeing the completed guides, but I definitely do not envy you the amount of work involved, ESPECIALLY for the smashes... 400 of those things!
