A Challenge! :-)
This is a challenge to those of you who have ever played NFS:HP2 (Need For Speed: Hot Pursuit 2) on either Xbox or PS2. I've played it on PS2 and PC (it's not the same on PC...), and it's one of my favorite racing games of all time.
Anyway, I went back today and, using a McLaren F1 on Coastal Parklands (the easiest track), recorded a clean lap of 1:28.17. My best lap was 1:21.91. For a 4 lap event, my best time was 5:46.99 [Lap 1) 1:34.81, Lap 2) 1:24.24, Lap 3) 1:21.91, Lap 4) 1:26.03].
My challenge is for those of you who still have this game to attempt to get a fast clean lap, fastest lap, and fastest time in a 4 lap event. You can even go a step further than I did and attempt an 8 lap race! Feel free to post your results, whether you beat my times or not... I think it'll be difficult, but a low 1:21 may be possible. The harder to play every game makes you more a winner the cheating to the top!(it's like the needler got on Steroids!)

You'll never beat that time with a Lambo; you won't even come close. Use a McLaren F1 or McLaren F1 LM... maybe the Mercedes CLK GTR or Porsche Carrerra GT, though I seriously doubt it with anything other than a McLaren.
And NO NFS EDITION of cars!

I might have a go if I still have the game installed on my computer.. Will look into that later. Not sure I have all the cars tho.. or didn't you have to unlock cars in that game... I cant remember, but I did play that game a lot back in 2002.

NFS HS2 for PC
I still have the game and I even have my 100% complete savegame. I did a single lap on Costal Parklands using the McLaren F1 LM. Got a 1:26.43 on my fourth attemt. Not too bad but not close to your 1:21. I might have another go at it later.

I lied...
I ended up trying out the NFS McLaren F1 then
My best laptime on Coastal Parklands with the NFS McLaren F1 was a 1:19.77... ranked number 4 for the track on Cyberscore.net
Best time on Cyberscore was a 1:17 which is insane

Not bad
1:26 is a good time for the McLaren F1 LM, but that's about as good as is possible with that car, considering it's top speed/acceleration is incomparable to the McLaren F1. Use the McLaren F1 when you get the chance and I guarantee you'll get around 1:23 or better.
