First public outing of Burnout Paradise

Criterion Games will have a hands-on ONLINE enabled playable demo of Burnout Paradise at both the Sony conference tomorrow morning and at the main "show floor" in Barker Hangar.

This will be the first real public outing of Burnout Paradise and Alex Ward says that they are very excited to show the game for the first time.

The demo will be on the PS3, online enabled with Playstation Eye plugged in.

Brand new Burnout Paradise in-game footage from Criterion Games

Today Criterion Games released a new new Burnout Paradise in game footage video. You just have to see this one! The video will open in a new window.

The video is from the pre-alpha E3 release of Burnout Paradise. It shows some truly amazing crashes. You also get to see a couple of the crashes in slow-motion. You can see sparks, glass and metal flying as the car is crushed.

The sense of speed in Burnout Paradise seems to be just as good as in the previous Burnout games. Paradise City looks stunning. Can’t wait try this for my self sometime in Q4 2007…

Hopefully we will get more in-game footage in the coming days.

What will make Burnout Paradise perfect?

As we are getting closer to the release of Burnout Paradise we want to have a look at what will make Burnout Paradise perfect. After the release of the game we will publish a follow-up article to see if our expectations were met or not.

BurnoutAholics:

Will Paradise be Perfect?

The teaser trailer released this week on the Xbox Live Marketplace looks stunning. Especially the speed in the last few seconds. But it doesn't give much away. What will Burnout Paradise be like? How will the Open World work on-line? Will there be Traffic Checking? I have so many questions. So I took a look back at a few Alex Ward interviews to see if I could get some answers. The Alex Ward quotes (in bold) come from his interviews with Newsweek, Eurogamer & CVG, I have used some artistic license.

When will we get more information about Burnout Paradise?

We expect that more information about Burnout Paradise will be revealed on this year’s E3 Media & Business Summit in Santa Monica. Around 4000 people are expected to attend to this year’s invitation-only event. This is a major downscale to last year’s 60000 people or 70000 in 2005. The event will be held on July 11-13, 2007. There has been no new information concerning the release date of Burnout Paradise. At this point all dates are pure speculations.

Burnout Paradise has been announced!

The latest in the best-selling Burnout racing series has been announced, after publisher EA revealed it would be out this winter for PS3 and Xbox 360.

Burnout Paradise will enable players, says publisher EA, "to take their dangerous driving experience to a whole new level".

The firm claims that next generation technology has given them an opportunity to offer an unprecedented level of crash detail allowing gamers to, "experience the most explosive pile-ups in the series' history".

“We have been working towards Burnout Paradise for quite some time. Next generation consoles have opened up a raft of new gameplay opportunities and the Criterion team has leaped at the chance to innovate and raise the bar to an all-new high,” said Pete Hawley, Executive Producer for Burnout Paradise. “There are going to be some big surprises and a lot of new features but the core of the game is still pure Burnout. Instant accessibility will be reinforced by innovative on-line capabilities which will see Burnout Paradise smash racing conventions.’’
