This is a paid for premium update, the first paid for content to be announced for Burnout Paradise. It has not been announced how much this will cost. The Party Pack will be available for download from February 2009.

Criterion Games Announcements for New Updates

These packs will be announced weekly from the 31st of October through to the 21st of November.

Keep checking back here and at CriterionGames.com for all the details.

Briefly on the site, this was posted, but has since been removed:

Burnout Paradise

Burnout Paradise is the latest instalment in the Burnout game series. It was released in January 2008 on XBOX 360 and PS3. It is not just the next evolutionary step in the game series but more of a revolution. Burnout Paradise is an open world game which includes lots of new game modes like Stunt Run, Show Time, Marked Man, Challenges and Motor Bikes.

Burnout Paradise has a solid single player mode where you can compete in race,  stunt run, road rage and marked man events to gain licences and unlock cars. This all happens without loading and the entire city is unlocked for you to explore straight away.

Criterion Games has put a lot of effort into making the online game easily accessible to the player and to build a strong online community. Traditionally one would think of racing, road rage and crash as the primary online game modes. This is not the case in Paradise City. According to Criterion Games Freeburn is the most popular online activity. Freeburn includes challenges, road rules and online games like stunt run, road rage and marked man.

Playstation Trophies NOT Retroactive

To all you PSN players, the Trophy update has been released today, but sadly Criterion were not able to implement them retroactively.

This is what Criterion Games said on their website today:

"Burnout Paradise saves are locked to your profile. We had hoped to use this to retroactively award trophies, but we discovered during testing that this is not possible. You will therefore require a fresh game-save to receive trophies in Burnout Paradise. If you're familiar with PS3 trophies already, you'll recognise that this works in the same way as all other games that have added trophy support post-release."

And Matt Webster added this in the forums this morning:
