What in the world...?

...are you doing, Khanon?!

What? Oh...all the blog posting? That's easy to explain...sort of.

I've been doing the internet forum thing back since all there was were bbses and newsgroups for us "internet" hounds. When FidoNet and UseNet were kings of the "Information Superhighway" and they were usually feeds to dial-up bbs systems, there was a familiar saying: "Activity breeds activity."

Wha?!

Work...the necessary Evil...

So...I'm at work right now. I know a few are probably wondering why I'm haunting the forums for the past couple hours or so. This is my reason. I'm at work. I love my job, but it's evil at the same time.

I wonder how many PC players there are so far...

I finally had the guts to go to online mode and check out the lobby last night... At what I thought would be a peak time, there were only a max of 20 people in the lobby, including myself... I figure the online stats shown by CriterionGames News blotters are for totals of all players from all 3 platforms, and with the dismally small amount of people shown online for PC, and the fact that an amateur like myself could set so many daily online records at that time of night leads me to wonder how few PC players there are.

Burnout Paradise Update 1.6: The Good and The Bad

Firstly, welcome to my first ever blog post!  I finally came up with something to blog about here...

And now:

PCPD pack.

It was announced yesterday on the PS3 and PC news pages about another premium download, Cops n Robbers or pursuit mode, i have been looking on other fan sites for details but the PS3 users seem reluctant to give any infomation away to 360 users, i found some pics on Operation Burnout but there were no details of what the news feed text said, although the question was asked many times by 360 users, one poster said we should have bought a PS3 then we could have seen what it said, (very helpful member of the community indeed).

PC exclusive user(s)

Now that I've had more time to root around the site, read more posts, check out the guides, etc. I'm hoping that The Powers That Be here at BurnoutAholics can make enough room for the PC users.

Khanon...? Whatever do you mean "make room"?

Burnout Paradise 1.6... rocks

I've been trying out Burnout Paradise 1.6 this afternoon and I really like it.

My main reason for liking it is that the game is much more colourful now. The colours are much more vibrant and clearer. Personally I did not like the grayish/blue tint that made everything look really dull.

The fog / mist no longer looks like the fog in a pre 2000 PC game. I think the option to turn it off is no longer needed.

Seems like menus made it to Paradise City after all. This is a good thing. It’s not always good to be different just for the sake of being different.

1.6 and Party Pack Impressions

Just some quick impressions

The new colours are awesome: the game looks absolutely stunning, espcially the cars. The crumples in the bodywork also looks a lot more defined. Night time also looks a lot better. I also haven't seen any fog...

The cars don't seem to have changed that much. They're slower while not boosting, but you get boost easier and use it up slower so it isn't a problem. The R-Turbo felt the same, but tougher. The X12 felt like it cornered a lot better.

The broken flashing billboards are very annoying. The superjumps and smash gates are alright.
